SAMA’s first ever fund raising dinner and dance has been created to help SAMA through some tough financial times and to enable planning for the future. This January and February, planning is underway in two separate (unnamed!) cities in the USA to confirm initial plans for the 2014 and 2015 conference/exhibitions. SAMA is incredibly lucky have MAI and conference planning happening so far in advance, but funds are needed to make venue and other deposits so far in advance of any registration money from its members.
The Murano Hotel’s chefs are considered some of the best in Tacoma. There is no question that the Murano is the best catering facility in the city; its chefs have created a hotel restaurant that is rated on Trip Advisor as the 3rd best in the city, no mean feat for a hotel dining room, and they’re pulling out all the stops for our special meal. Just by eating good food you’ll be making future conferences possible. To whet your appetite, here are some menu details:
Have a Ball (for SAMA) Menu
1st course:
Murano Blue Salad: mixed greens, grapes, blue cheese, almonds, and blueberry vinaigrette and a basket filled with a variety of breads.
2nd course, served with roasted red potatoes and fresh seasonal vegetables:
Your choice of one of the following:
- Wild Salmon with a saffron cream sauce garnished with fried leeks
- Chicken Cordon Bleu stuffed with apricots, prosciutto, and blue cheese
- New York Steak with wild morel mushroom demi-glaze sauce
- Butternut squash ravioli with sage cream
We will contact those who have purchased tickets in March for your entree selection.
3rd Course
Chocolate and Berry Mousse Tower: layers of chocolate and berry mousse topped with a raspberry gelee. Served with Starbucks coffee and teas
SAMA will also offer free iced tea and sodas during the meal
While your stomach is being satisfied with this lovely meal, SAMA will offer for auction some incredible travel and educational experiences as well as mosaic art donated by some very generous members. Next month, we will announce the list of incredible opportunities that will be up for auction (donations are still being accepted!)
Afterwards, David Leu, a very personable DJ and owner of Leu Jam Entertainment, will play nearly four hours of dancing music for your pleasure. The dancing is free to all conference attendees and spouses.
Co-chairs Kelley Knickerbocker and Richard Davis invite you to join them in celebrating what we hope will be the best and most satisfying SAMA conference ever and provide for the future great conferences!
Group tables should be purchased by one registered attendee who will enter all meal selections for guests and will be provided all tickets for the table in their registration neck wallet upon on-site check-in. All group tables will be acknowledged on SAMA’s FB page with a photo from the event!
At the conclusion of the dinner/auction, the ballroom and Cash Bar will be open to all conference attendees for dancing into the night to lively DJ music!
Interested in donating an item for the auction? Complete this form, or contact Sponsorship Chair, Ed Kinsella today! We will update this page with the exciting items that will be up for auction soon!
