Workshop Description
Every fine artist knows that tonal value is the most important element of a painting. If you want to elevate your mosaic art to the level of fine art, then knowing about tonal values is essential.

In this workshop you will create a portrait in Mexican & Italian smalti while learning the components of tonal values, luminosity, shadows and the basics of color theory in an easy-to-understand presentation. You will be encouraged to explore and experiment with different colors and textures.

We will focus on a Modern method, freeing ourselves of perfect andamento and cuts to focus on creating illusions that are exciting, moving and provide you with tools that will change the way you create all types of mosaic, not just portraits. Suitable for all levels.

SAMA members who are enrolled at the Professional, Corporate, or Patron levels who wish to list their classes here can enter information in the Member Center on the “website forms” page.
