This workshop will be a great starting point to the learning of mosaics and to create a lasting gift at the same time. During this two-day workshop, we will utilize the direct method of applying stained glass remnants, fused glass baubles and other decorative extras. Students will learn how to cut the glass into the small bits of mosaic material, also called tesserae. We will also learn to cut glass into shapes (like the flower pictured) that are used for the Opus Sectile technique. This looks especially nice in combination with the smaller tessereae. You will understand which adhesives to use and how grout can effect your mosaic's final look. All students will receive hand outs and a mirror substrate such as the one shown.
