| Fee: $395 Includes materials $100 deposit secures your spot Limit: 12 students For more information and to register contact: mosaicoasis@gmail.com or carol.shelkin@yahoo.com About the workshop: In this workshop students use traditional and non-traditional mosaic styles and fine art techniques to understand facial structure, color, value and types of shadows to create and discover realism in mosaic art. Students will have instruction on how to develop and find their own style and learn how to see differently by developing an eye for mosaic. Students will learn to mix glass colors, values to define planes of the face and use color most effectively with professional artist tricks taught. Level: Intermediate to Advanced (or with some art background) Carol Shelkin Bio: Carol is a full-time teaching artist in her hometown of Philadelphia, PA as well as teaches worldwide. She has shown her work both nationally and internationally, creates and installs public mosaics and works with community groups. Her work is represented in many private, public and corporate collections and has received many awards. Her studies include Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Philadelphia College of Art and Fleisher Art Memorial. She has been published in several art publications and has been awarded the 2011 Robin Brett Mosaic Scholarship by The Society of American Mosaic Artists for studies in Ravenna, Italy |
